The Bronpi Portfolio
covers a wide range of models and designs including large and small free
standing stoves in a range of designs including the ORDESA and
the ZAMORA stoves. With outputs of 10kW and 9kW respectively,
both models are available in a choice of cast metal or enamelled
finishes.
Of particular interest to traditional fireplace showrooms is the Bronpi
range of WOOD BURNING INSERTS that fit into the traditional
British Fireplace Setting. It is not every household that is capable of
accommodating a free-standing stove or has an inglenook style fireplace
so the potential for fitting wood burning appliances into traditional
fireplaces is immense.
Bronpi's BRISTOL INSERT has been specifically designed to be
installed in a standard size UK fire opening and, is already proving
very popular.
For larger fireplace situations, the KENIA range of inset
wood burners is 600mm (23.6 inches) wide and includes switch operated
fans to accelerate heat output when required. Curved or flat decorative
frames are also available for installing the Kenia range in "HOLE IN
THE WALL" configurations without a fireplace.
Traditionally there has always been a wide demarcation between
specialist stove outlets and specialist fireplace outlets. Over the
years the amount of crossover between the two has been remarkably
little. But times are changing. A brief glance at the increasing number
of advertisements for wood burning stoves is testimony to this.
Fireplace
showrooms are reporting vastly increased enquiries for wood burning
appliances and are fast becoming to realise that they must get on the
band-wagon, a trend which is being accelerated with each of the recently
reported price rises in gas and electricity. Further market drivers are
recent and forthcoming changes to the Building Regulations aimed at
reducing Carbon Dioxide Emissions. Whether it is new housing, where
builders are required to meet ever more demanding SAP
requirements, or even house extensions that need to achieve a Target
Emission Rate (TER) for Carbon Dioxide, wood burning appliance
offer a solution. This is producing more and more enquiries for wood
burners throughout the traditional fireplace showrooms network.
Here at Merlin Fireplaces we are perfectly positioned to provide a
unique and wide ranging service to those outlets choosing to sell Bronpi
Stoves. We have adapted to many changes in the industry over the years.
From slabbing ceramic tile fireplaces for solid fuel coal fires and room
heaters we have progressed through the evolution of gas flame effect
fires in Adam Style Wooden Mantels, through Electric Fires and Electric
Suites to Carved Marble & Stone Fireplaces. Now the wheel has turned
full circle and we are back to Solid Fuel Room Heaters but this time
using wood instead of coal as an eco-friendly, low emission, renewable
heat source.
This wealth of experience now stands us in good stead. There is a marked
increase in sales to stove shops of bespoke granite hearths and floor
plates for wood burning stoves and stone or granite cladding for
inglenook installations. Our experience in working stone and marble
means that we can give an excellent service for these items.

We have already
learnt a huge lesson from feedback generated by our customers during
initial marketing. The internet is a fact of life and is an extremely
useful tool for sales and marketing but there is a significant backlash
against internet selling. Independent retailers are getting heartily
sick of potential customers coming into their showrooms to view
products, take brochures and get information to then order product on
the internet at a lower price. Not surprisingly the most common question
being asked of us by potential Bronpi Retailers is "Are these stoves
going to be available on the internet?"
Of course, individual retailers cannot be halted from advertising their
own showrooms on the internet. That is fair practice. However, the firm
decision has been made that Bronpi stoves will not be made available in
bulk to companies engaging in distance selling or distribution via the
internet. Sales will only be made to genuine retailers who maintain a
showroom presence to display and sell the stoves and associated
fireplaces.
